How I work
My work spans running a business, supporting nonprofit decisions, managing customer-facing operations, and designing AI workflows. Across those settings, I have had to connect what a system is supposed to do with the information, resources, and people needed to make it work.
I define requirements, coordinate tools, and question results that lack support. When a classification, record match, or proposed action does not hold together, I work through the issue rather than accepting a polished explanation. That attention has to serve a purpose: I also distinguish the safeguards an experiment needs from refinements that can wait until there is evidence to learn from.
I think of AI as a sharp knife: its usefulness depends on skilled handling, appropriate limits, and care for the person affected. I am pursuing AI operations, enablement, and evaluation work in both nonprofits and businesses, where I can combine that judgment with a practical commitment to helping people.
AI across the work
My workplace AI experience spans business operations, nonprofit research, and fitness operations. At Quantum Digital Assets (QDA), our team used automation from 2018 and began incorporating AI and natural language processing into its algorithms. At Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), I used AI throughout research and consulting, directing data consolidation, analytical methods, output review, and decision-support deliverables. At Planet Fitness, I built and personally used PF AI to consult club materials through source-grounded answers and checkable citations.
I explored the fitness industry because I wanted to help people directly. That experience helped me recognize that AI systems operations is where I can make my strongest contribution, combining operating responsibility, technical judgment, and concern for the people using a system. More about that direction.
Operating experience
Quantum Digital Assets
I founded and ran a boutique investment firm that reached approximately $20 million in assets under management. I led strategy, capital raising, investor relationships, reporting, and day-to-day operations. We used automation from 2018, when our team began incorporating AI and natural language processing into its algorithms.
I built Quantum Horizon, an interactive dashboard for investor reporting, with QDA and benchmark comparisons, risk measures, and financial definitions. I also maintained investor relationships through education and recurring communication, and prepared budget updates, risk briefs, and quarterly board reports. The work required explaining unfamiliar concepts and making operating information understandable to the people reviewing it.
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation
I directed AI-assisted civic research and data consolidation, developed source-tracking and classification methods, and challenged outputs that lacked sufficient support. I requested corrections and verification as part of preparing research materials for the foundation. Read the FCCF case study.
Planet Fitness (Ignite Fitness Holdings)
During my employment, I progressed from Front Desk Associate through Team Lead to Assistant Manager and was asked to take on a manager role. I trained front-desk and cleaning staff on service standards and handled member concerns. I built and used PF AI in NotebookLM, selecting source-grounded answers and citations that could be checked against club training and operating materials. Read about PF AI.
Service
Encore Fellow · Fairfield County’s Community Foundation
I led an AI-assisted feasibility study for a proposed civic-connection initiative, working with foundation leadership and the U.S. Chamber of Connection founder. I considered partner incentives and barriers to participation alongside governance, funding, implementation, and measurement recommendations.
Volunteer Firefighter · North Haven Fire Department
I supported emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, and incident communication.
Lead Volunteer · Benchmark Senior Living
I supported resident activities and staff during events and daily routines, and provided companionship for older adults.
Sharing Iron Protocol
I gave away Iron Protocol, my AI workout coach, for free to younger and older fitness beginners and used it to create individualized workout and nutrition plans. Helping people begin with information they can understand is one of the reasons I continue developing it. Read the Iron Protocol story.
