An AI-assisted career workflow

The brief

For my career materials, I set requirements for factual accuracy, writing, design, and preservation of existing sources. I wanted claims supported by specific work, readable documents, and editable files for later changes. A completed production milestone delivered five résumés and four cover letters in PDF, DOCX, and plain text: 27 files.

Giving the tools distinct jobs

I assigned distinct research, production, and editorial responsibilities to AI assistants, then designated one collaborator as the primary drafter of all four letters. They exchanged briefs, complete text, and review artifacts, with their different access to files and context made explicit. I directed the work and retained the final decisions.

I subsequently directed a source-based writing study using selected professional correspondence and analytical papers to develop a reusable Aaron Voice skill. It provides guidance for professional and analytical writing while keeping drafts appropriate to their audience and purpose. The skill supports drafting and collaborative review; it does not claim to reproduce my voice perfectly.

Reviewing the deliverables

The process included positioning, full-text, and rendered-page reviews. I supplied factual corrections and decisions about emphasis, including volunteer service, practical workplace AI use, and the limits of unfinished projects. Local checks covered wording across formats, text extraction, links, and document structure.

The completed three-page résumé version covered 19 document pages: five three-page résumés and four one-page letters, inspected in color and grayscale. The editorial collaborator reviewed supplied page images; that review remained distinct from local PDF and DOCX checks. Those findings apply to the reviewed versions rather than automatically covering later revisions.

Preserving continuity and authority

The new materials were added to my existing résumé collection and checked against the finished documents without replacing the original text. I set the brief, corrected the record, assigned responsibilities, and made the final decisions.

The results are completed documents and a reusable process for transferring context, reviewing work, and preserving sources. They do not establish a hiring outcome. I retain decisions about submission and publication, including which private context belongs in outward-facing material.

The portfolio itself

I designed and built this portfolio with AI assistance. I set its direction, chose the features, reviewed the writing and visual design, and directed revisions when something was unclear or awkward to use. The work included deciding what to show, how to substantiate it, and which implementation details should remain private.

The site gives visitors several ways to examine that work: project case studies, a résumé reader, a source-based AI guide, and interactive educational examples. The fictional exercises and investment illustrations are labeled separately from my professional results. Theme and reading preferences let visitors adjust the experience to their needs.
