Starting with the work
During my employment at Planet Fitness, I built and used PF AI in NotebookLM, selecting source-grounded answers and citations that could be checked against club training and operating materials. I found it useful during day-to-day work as a focused reference assistant. The objective was to make information relevant to the job easier to consult.
Choosing a proportionate tool
A workplace reference tool needed to give me a way to check the material behind its answers. That requirement guided the platform choice and the sources I selected. I used an existing tool suited to a defined information need, with a practical scope I could assess through my own work.
Working with people
My employment ran from December 2025 through June 2026. During that period, I progressed from Front Desk Associate through Team Lead to Assistant Manager and was asked to take on a manager role. Alongside my personal use of PF AI, I trained front-desk and cleaning staff on service standards and task execution, handled member concerns, and escalated complex billing and policy issues. Those responsibilities kept my interest in tools connected to the need for understandable instructions and clear next actions.
What this experience clarified
I explored the fitness industry because I wanted to help people directly. Progressing into staff leadership and building PF AI helped me see where my interests came together: useful AI systems, practical operations, and the people relying on both. I came to recognize AI systems operations as my strongest way to contribute.
